Produced by Mutsumi Hinoura (Ajikataya brand), the AJIKATAYA Echigo Hatchet Single-Edged is a KATABA, Yonezawa type with a blade length of 180 mm (7 inch) and a total length of 375 mm (14.8 inch). It weighs 590 g (21 oz) with a blade height of 58 mm (2.3 inch) and a blade thickness above the heel of 7 mm (0.28 inch). Made with a Carbon steel blade and White oak handle, the hatchet is single-edged and designed for right-handed use. Comes with a leather case, it is top quality Japanese craftsmanship, with each item shaped through the hammering of materials by a skilled craftsman. See the wonders these Japanese craftsmen create!

A small blade tip called "Hashi" equipped on blade head. Hashi guards the blade edge from breaking by hitting ground accidently. It also can be used as hook for catching things.
