Wrap a Kitchen Knife with Newspaper
Promotion Period: September 9 – October 2, 2026
During this period, all orders containing knives or sickles will include authentic Japanese newspaper as a complimentary wrapping material.
Newspaper provides natural ventilation and helps protect carbon‑steel blades from rust, making it an excellent traditional storage method.
Enjoy this special campaign and experience a piece of Japanese daily culture with your purchase.

Knife storage: Wrapping the knife in newspaper provides ventilation, and the natural oils in the paper help prevent rust.
Moisture control: When storing knives in a humid environment, using newspaper helps protect the blade from rust.
Reusability: If the newspaper gets wet, you can simply dry it and use it again, making it a very low‑cost solution.
Oil application: For carbon‑steel knives or sickles, wrapping them in newspaper without applying oil can still prevent oxidation.
How to Wrap a Kitchen Knife with Newspaper
1. Cut a sheet of newspaper in half, then fold it in half again.
2. Fold the bottom‑right corner slightly to create a small triangular flap.
3. Place the knife on that folded section.
Align the handle with the edge of the desk so its height doesn’t interfere—touching the end of the handle to the desk makes positioning easier.
4. Fold the left side of the newspaper over the blade to cover it.
5. Rotate the knife once to roll it further into the paper.
6. Fold the top section down, leaving about 1 cm of width.
7. Continue rotating the knife until it is fully wrapped, then secure the final flap with tape.
