Dressmaking Shears

Cutting shears are also called Rasha shears.
The term Rasha comes from the Portuguese word raxa, which refers to a kind of woolen textile.
When you use scissors designed for cutting paper to cut fabric, the blades are thicker than those of fabric shears, making it difficult to cut straight and clean.
Please be sure to use proper fabric shears when cutting cloth.
Fabric shears are made with thin, sharp blades specifically for cutting soft materials.
Because of this, cutting paper—which is harder than fabric fibers—can damage the blades and make it difficult to cut fabric properly.
Please make sure to use each type of scissors for its intended purpose.
