Features
-
Unlike typical Western planes, which are made from a single steel material, our replacement blades are crafted by a plane blacksmith in Miki using a composite of Aogami No. 1 and soft iron. This makes them sharper and easier to sharpen.
-
The blade is slightly raised at the back tip as a finishing touch based on Japanese plane techniques, enhancing sharpness.
-
Only the back of the blade is made of Aogami No. 1, while most of the sharpening surface is easy-to-sharpen base metal (soft iron). This significantly reduces sharpening time and wear on whetstones compared to typical Western plane replacement blades.
-
Finished in black dye like a Japanese plane, the blade is not only rust-resistant but also provides a luxurious feel similar to traditional Japanese planes.
Note
-
Please check the size of your plane's blade to ensure compatibility with your model.
-
Compatible with planes from Lie-Nielsen, Stanley, Veritas, Dictum, and other manufacturers.
