■Features:
While typical Western-style plane blades are made from a single type of steel, our replacement blades are crafted by a plane blacksmith in Miki, using a composite material of Aogami No. 1 steel and soft iron, just like traditional Japanese planes. This results in superior sharpness and ease of sharpening.
Based on Japanese plane techniques, the tip of the back of the blade is slightly raised during the finishing process, making it easier to sharpen.
Just like traditional Japanese planes, Aogami No.1 steel is used only on the back of the blade, and most of the sharpening surface is made of easy-to-sharpen base metal (soft iron). Unlike typical Western-style plane blades, sharpening is very quick and whetstone wear is minimal.
The blade is finished with a black dye, similar to traditional Japanese planes, making it rust-resistant and giving it a high-quality feel reminiscent of old-fashioned Japanese planes.

・Please check the blade size of your plane to confirm compatibility.
It can be used with planes from brands such as Lie-Nielsen, Stanley, Veritas, and Dictum.
・Depending on the manufacturing timing, the surface finish (polishing) may differ slightly from the image. Please understand.
・At the time of shipment, only the intermediate sharpening is performed to make it easier to sharpen to your preference.
Therefore, as with other products, it is necessary to sharpen the back, use a medium whetstone (#1000), a finishing whetstone (#3000-4000), and a super-finishing whetstone (#8000), and remove the burr before use.
