This is a handmade forged knife crafted by Masataka Tanaka, who creates knives by hand from forging in Miki, a town known for its blacksmiths.
In addition to traditional techniques, this knife embodies Mr. Tanaka's passion and possesses the functional beauty of a true craftsman.
The blade is made of powder high-speed steel laminated steel, which is excellent in wear resistance and hardness.
The laminated material is heated in the furnace and carefully forged, resulting in a blade with a fine structure that is simply superb in terms of sharpness.
Furthermore, the three-dimensional laminated pattern that appears on the blade creates a beautiful picture that is unique to hand-forged knives, with no two being exactly alike.
The handle is made of the finest buffalo horn octagonal ebony, which is highly durable. It combines not only sharpness but also beauty.

■Note:
We do not offer engraving on this knife.
Due to its excellent hardness and wear resistance, sharpening with a regular whetstone will take a considerable amount of time.
Please use a whetstone designed for high-speed steel.
