This is a traditional natural whetstone said to be the first to be distributed in Japan.
It is made of solidified sandstone, and when sharpened, it produces fine particles.
It may feel rough at first, but the particles gradually become finer, resulting in a good finish. It is a relatively soft whetstone that is easy to use and is ideal for intermediate sharpening of blades.
