This is an authentic Kishu-style round HITSU hatchet, handcrafted one by one by a Tosa blacksmith. It is made with white paper steel sandwiched in the center, giving it a sharp cutting edge. It is a true tool that can be used as a regular item in gardens, farmhouses, villas, mountain huts, etc. It is very convenient to have one on hand for pruning and clearing branches, as well as splitting small firewood.
